Silver Airways upgrades to new Customer-Focused Reservations System and Website

by Steve Bennett | Jun 17, 2013
Silver Airways, Florida’s new hometown regional airline, took a major step forward in its corporate evolution as a new stand-alone regional airline this month with the adoption of a new reservations system and website powered by Sabre.
The move transitions Silver Airways’ technology platform from the Hewlett Packard SHARES system employed previously as part of its codeshare agreement with United to a stand-alone solution that positions the airline to better serve and assist its customers flying to and from Florida, Georgia and The Bahamas.
“Our move to Sabre is all about our future and putting our airline in the best position to succeed in the long-term,” said Dave Pflieger, President & CEO of Silver Airways. “The benefits of our new system will extend to customers, staff, and our business partners alike, strengthening our company, our product and the service we deliver.”
For customers, the move to Sabre will be most apparent in the carrier’s enhanced ability to sell tickets directly through its new website – – and offer sale fares, as well as dynamic vacation packages including air transportation, hotel accommodations, rental car options, and more.
A new toll-free reservations number – 800-881-4999 – that takes calls to the new Silver Airways reservations center based in Fort Lauderdale is also part of the upgrade.
“Managing our own reservations and Internet platform will allow us to have pricing flexibility that will ensure our fares are always competitive and responsive to the market,” Mr. Pflieger added.
“Previously, customers experienced confusion planning their travel on our old website only to be re-directed to United or a partner site to complete their transactions. With our move to Sabre, the full transaction – from planning trips and researching prices to purchasing tickets can all take place on our own website or through our new reservations center. In addition, passengers can now check-in on-line at”
The Silver Airways cutover to Sabre took effect on Saturday June 8, 2013, with minimal disruptions, a credit to the strong collaboration between the airline and Sabre Airline Solutions.
“The Silver Airways staff worked hand-in-glove with the Sabre team for a successful reservations system migration,” said Hugh Jones, president, Sabre Airline Solutions. “We believe SabreSonic Customer Sales & Service is the perfect solution to help the airline reach its goals, and we are pleased to have them as part of the continually growing SabreSonic community.”
