Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (September 5, 2018)Silver Airways this week wrapped up a very successful first summer of providing seasonal service between Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) and Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) for the summer season. The airline carried out an impressive 100 percent controllable completion factor, as well as arrivals well over 80 percent for the season.

“We are very proud to have been selected by the community and the U.S. Department of Transportation to offer much-needed air service for business and leisure travelers to and from Bar Harbor,” said Silver Airways CEO Steve Rossum. “Thanks to the tremendous support of the community and customers, we achieved record passenger levels this summer and the hard-working team of Silver professionals delivered exceptional operational performance. We are very much looking forward to returning next summer and in the years to come.”

“I want to thank the entire team at Silver Airways for providing outstanding service to our visitors and to our community during the 2018 ‘peak season’ here at the airport,” said Brad Madeira, Airport Manager County of Hancock, Maine. “I am proud of how our other airport service providers embraced and supported Silver Airways in order to successfully integrate their service here. We are seeing seasonal passenger numbers rebound to levels we have not seen in several years due to Silver’s affordable fares and excellent reliability, and we are very excited for what the future holds with Silver Airways service here at the Hancock County – Bar Harbor Airport.”

Silver Airways started offering service between Bar Harbor and Boston at the end of June for the summer season with schedules operating during the peak travel season through Labor Day that were designed to conveniently connect to Silver’s numerous codeshare and interline partners in Boston to over 75 destinations across the U.S. and beyond, including 27 of the most important airports via Silver’s codeshare with JetBlue to the northeast corridor, Florida and California.
